7 Healthy Breakfast Smoothies to get rid of the January Blues

After months of eating junk and not taking good care of my self from within I decided to start off mid January with a smoothie cleanse. This was my personal 7 day challenge combined with the removal of refined sugars.

Did you know that shop bought smoothies are packed with at least 100g of sugar for each serving. It’s like eating natural sugars from fruits with additional refined sugars.

This was a great challenge which I shared with friends and family, by the middle of the week I felt less tired and also more energized ( caffeine was removed from my diet during the challenge).

*A little tip

Slice and prep all your smoothie ingredients the night before work and store in a zip lock bag ready to blend straight away in the morning. I reused the same ziplock back over my 7 day detox.

DAY 1 – GREEN BOOST

My Smoothie Day started on a Saturday afternoon with a green boost smoothie jam packed with antioxidants, fibre and ginger which helps aid digestion.

Start off your smoothie breakfast day with 1/4 cucumber, 1/2 pineapple including the core, 1/2 avocado, a small handful of spinach, fresh ginger and a freshly squeezed lemon. Add a little unsweetened almond milk and ice cubes into your blender, blitz and enjoy.

DAY 2 – ABC SMOOTHIE

Sunday’s Smoothie

Add 1 Apple, 1 Beetroot, 2 Carrots, fresh ginger and 1/2 a freshly squeezed lemon to the blender. Add a little bit of unsweetened almond milk with ice and hey presto you’ve got yourself a smoothie packed with folate, manganese, potassium, iron, vitamin C, vitamin K1 and many other nutrients which helps lower blood pressure and increases your exercise performance.

DAY 3 – WAKE ME UP SMOOTHIE

Monday’s Smoothie

Forget that Monday feeling and wake up feeling refreshed with 1 teaspoon of matcha powder ( found in whole food stores, I purchased mine from Hollands and Barrett), 1/2 avacado, 1 green apple, 1/4 freshly squeezed lemon, a handful of spinache, 1 tsp almond butter, 2 tbsp ground flax seeds and 1/2 tsp ground ginger. Add a little almond milk and ice and forget about that Monday January Blues.

DAY 4 – POWER GOLD SMOOTHIE

Tuesday’s Smoothie

Powered with sharon fruits which are high in vitamins which helps elivates stress, great for a quick energy release and many more. Try the Golden smoothie with 2 carrots, one sharon fruit, 1 apple, a little fresh ginger and blitz with a little almond milk. This was one of my favourite smoothies.

DAY 5 – MIXED BERRY SMOOTHIE

Wednesday’s smoothie

Blitz 50g raspberries, 50g blueberries, 4 strawberries add a couple of mint leaves add a few drops of unsweetened coconut milk.

DAY 6 – MIXED BERRIES WITH BEETROOT SMOOTHIE

This smoothie is similar to Wednesday’s smoothie with the addition of one small beetroot, 1 pear and a handful of spinach.

DAY 7 – SUNSHINE SMOOTHIE

Friday’s Smoothie

Add 1 tsp of matcha powder to 1 freshly cut sharon fruit, 3 carrots, 1 apple, and a freshly cut ginger and blitz with a little Oatly milk to celebrate completing your 7 day breakfast smoothie.

Let me know if your tried any of the smoothies above or if you completed the 7 day smoothie detox / cleanse.
